DIY RUSTIC Christmas Decor – Make this now!

Hey guys!! I have another unique and easy  DIY Christmas decor for your living space, front door or bedroom. It is super duper easy, but will probably take you roughly an hour to complete. The hour will be used mainly for drying time. This project is very similar to my “Home” Wood Sign project. You’ll need the same materials except for different paint colors.

The wood plank I used for this project was found in my shed and I used red and white acylic paint that I already had on hand. I can honestly say I spent zero dollars on this project and I feel really great about that! :0

Here are photos of the process. It’s really easy, I promise.

So first I prepped the wood plank by painting it several coats of white acrylic paint. The plan was to end up with a rustic shabby-ish sign so I decided to leave a streak effect.

Next, I shaded the back of the (previously printed) letters and taped them down on the wood plank and tracing commenced.

Next was painting the letters! I chose red because it’s a festive Christmas color. At this point I felt like the completed JOY sign was still missing something because of the negative space at the top and bottom, so I had to give that space a bang for its buck. Check it out! Check it out!

I fininshed the rustic sign with embroidery floss (yarn) and I could not be any more satisfied with the result of this project. I definitely had fun making it!

Is this an idea you might try? If it’s too late to make a wood sign for Christmas, why not make one for Valentine’s day (LOVE), which is exactly 2 months away.

Yours DIYly,
