| Declutter your home. The holidays are for having fun and being with family. The state of your home matters and has an impact on the atmosphere you create for your guests. It’s important to declutter your home before decorating for the holidays. Clutter and decorations do not mix well. Get the LTST printable Home Declutter Checklist and start now!
| Decorate! Dust off your Christmas tree, wreaths and garlands and spruce them up. Hang your favorite ornaments and get into the Christmas spirit.
| Wrap gifts. Hopefully you have started shopping for gifts. Begin wrapping them and place them under your tree and around your home for a hint of Christmas décor in unexpected places. Find some cool gift wraps here!
| Make DIY gifts for your friends. If you are on a budget, start making your gifts now. Plan ahead to make sure they’re all completed and wrapped before Christmas morning. Autumn, at It’s Always Autumn, did a great job of compiling a list of DIY gift ideas for everyone on your list.
| Donate to Thrift Stores. This tip goes along with decluttering your home. As you get rid of things that no longer serve you, don’t forget to donate reusable items to thrift store such as Savers, Goodwill and Salvation Army.
| Make Christmas crafts with your Children. Children love Christmas, especially decorating part of it. Make some DIY ornaments, links and wreaths with your children and add some colorful pinecones to your Christmas tree and wreaths.
| Make a playlist of your favorite Christmas songs to help you usher in the Christmas spirit.
| Rent Christmas movies from your local library. Get a few favorites for everyone in your family.
| Volunteer in your community or neighborhood. Seek out churches and other non-for-profit organizations in your community for volunteering opportunities whenever you have some free time.
| Take a family photo. This a fun thing to do just for the fun of it. The photo does not need to be fancy or be taken by a professional photographer, or end up on a Christmas card. Have fun, make faces and save it as a keepsake for your family and close friends. Start this Christmas and make it a family tradition.
| Attend a Christmas Festival. Attend a festival of trees, parade of lights, or any holiday-themed local event in your community.
| Have wonderful and love-filled holiday!
