How I Keep My Skin Moisturized All Year Round

You know what has been difficult? Finding the right skincare products for everyone in my household. And in my household, there are 5 of us. Talk about searching for skin care products year after year, season after season and a lot of trial and error.

So after years of searching, I have found a few that I can rely on and has worked well for us for a while. Below are the six skin care products I use for my family, how we use them and my overall experience using them.

Dove White Beauty Bar Soap

The Dove Bar soap has been a must-have for the last 7 – 8 years . Trust me, I stand behind the company’s claim that this bar does not dry out your skin like other bar soaps. It cleanses and moisturizes gently with no soap or drying residue. I have used other soaps in the past that leaves your skin feeling harsh, and like a layer of your skin had just washed off. Dove is at the top of our recommendation list and there’s no going back for us.

Don’t like bar soaps, try the body wash version of this beautiful product.

Jergens Ultra Healing Body Moisturizing lotion

We have been using this body lotion for years because it has been great! No need to fix what’s not broken, right? It’s light enough that it spreads easily on the skin and does it’s job to moisturize as well. The smell is neutral (almost unscented) and will be great for anyone who is sensitive to scents or prone to skin issues. It goes on easy and leaves no shiny or greasy look.

Want to save a bit on this lotion? Buy it in bulk at Sam’s Club! The package comes in multiple bottles and travel size as well. This way you have a few containers in different rooms or designated areas, and one to carry with you.

Jergens Face Cream

I recently added the Jergens Face Cream to my collection because I have started to notice dry spots on my face. It works very well to combat my dry skin and I use it for my boys as well because their faces seem to be drier than usual during the winter season. I apply it after washing my face in the morning and my face is still moisturized after a long day of work. It has been a nice addition and I wish I had been using it earlier.

It is a very light cream, applies easily and will get absorbed into your skin in no time. And don’t be scared of the product packaging. The face cream container looks like it has not been updated in over 10 years. Just focus on the content itself; its great! It contains less than 10 ingredients (not including petrolatum) and it’s most abundant ingredient is mineral oil.

I’ve also heard that it could be used as a night cream, as a good base for applying makeup and to remove makeup as well. So many ways to use this awesome product!

Gold Bond Radiance Renewal Body Lotion

I first tried the Gold Bond Ultimate Radiance Renewal at the beginning of the Fall season of 2019. I knew the dry air was inevitable and I was eager to try something new to combat the boys’ winter dry skin. After seeing a few commercials and reading some reviews, I decided to give it a try.

The boys seem to gravitate towards it because of its strong Shea Butter smell. But the same smell is the reason why I’m not a big fan of it. It smells good, but it’s bit strong for me. It works fine, but its consistency is much thicker than what I’m used to and it is a bit difficult to spread onto the skin.

We still use it, but not as often as we use the Jergens. Some days, we use it only at night.

Johnson’s Baby Oil

Johnson’s Baby Oil has been another must-have in our home since the boys were born. We’ve used it as a body moisturizer, mixed it into other lotions and used it to lock in moisture after baths and showers, especially in the summer time. It’s light and always smells good!

Eucerin Original Healing Cream

We use the Eucerin Original Healing Cream at night after a showers, especially in the winter. It is not the easiest cream to put on, but it’s thick enough to lock in moisture overnight. It’s pretty much a mixture of petroleum jelly, mineral oil and some type of cream.
