DIY Geometric Chinoiserie Vase: How to Make a Chinoiserie Vase

I’m sure you, my lovely readers, have seen those beautifully styled chinoiserie vases on Pinterest. They are beautiful as singles, but even better as a collection.

Those vases and ginger jars can be quite expensive, (don’t believe me, look here) so I decided to DIY one to save some bucks and you can too!

Here are a few examples. I especially like the geometric ones like these (click on the caption below the images):

To create a DIY Chinoiserie Geometric Vase, you will need:

1| A glass vase
2| Blue and white geometric print (I used home decor fabric, but I think a simple cotton fabric would work better)
3| Mod podge
4| A brush

What a wonderful idea! I’ve seen these vases and you’re not kidding about the price tag on them. I’m definitely going to try this, but I am a mod podge novice…think I used in an art project in high school. Have you experimented with different Mod Podges? I just looked up the different formulas online and there are a bunch. Did you use the “dishwasher safe” formula since the vase deals with a lot of water, or “gloss” or “hard coat”? They all seem like they’d do a good job, but I’d like to know from somebody who has actually done it.
