25 Unique Spring Indoor and Outdoor Wreaths

Hip Hip Hooray! Spring is finally here!

I have to tell you, Spring wreaths are my favorite. I like the bright and fun colors that Spring brings. I have been looking for a wreath for my front door and I’m sharing my favorites with you all. While all wreaths are pretty, keep in mind the color of your door before you choose one. Choose a wreath that will complement the color of your house and door, not one that will blend in.

How to add some geometry to your Home Decor

Fall is here and it’s time for a little redecorating! A change in seasons is a great time to make changes in our lives and in our homes. To get started, why don’t you draw inspiration from a popular trend sweeping both weddings and interior design?

Geometric decor is a contemporary design style filled with lots of fun shapes and bold lines. It can easily blend into a minimally-styled dwelling or stand out in a boho chic abode. For example, you can throw in large area rug with a sharp geometric patterns as a subtle statement piece in an all-white room or a vibrant addition to a lively color scheme. If you don’t have the room to add in a lot of new furniture, you can simply replace some of your old furniture with some new and modern ones. You can easily replace your pillowcase covers and place your plants in new geometric-styled planters.

However, don’t be fooled! Geometric style doesn’t just stop at patterns. You can also find funky pieces in fun and interesting shapes to freshen up any room in your house. Industrial lamp shades, hexagon shelves and diamond-shaped mirrors are a few pieces of furniture you can swap in to refresh off-season furnishings.

Proflowers has a beautiful visual guide to help guide you through the geometric decor trend for your home. They have ideas ranging from your wall design to your furniture textures. Take a look at all of their ideas to see what ideas you can incorporate into the rooms in your home.

Simple DIY Valentine’s Day Decorations

As a home decor enthusiast I take every opportunity I have to get my hands on DIY projects that commemorate traditions throughout the year. With that said, I bring you some DIY Valentine’s Day decorations that are not too late to make.

  1. LIPSTICK ART – I love this pretty cool decor because it’s really east to make. You’ll need some cardstock, a picture frame and multiple shades of lipstick. Or just plain old colored pencils. Voila!

2. YARN LOVE LETTERS: This idea is also pretty cool. You’ll need paper mache/cardboard letters and several shades of pink yarn. Get to wrapping!

3. DOUBLE LOVE: what better way to say love in two ways? The word and a heart. I am a fan of wooden letters and they can be easily found at your local craft store. For this project you will also need patterns paper to make the roses if you like.

How to refresh your Throw Pillows | DIY

I recently published a post that referenced my old “one-design-for-all” throw pillows and what I did to transform them. Sewing pillow covers are so easy and do not require a lot of time. Anyone can do it! I decided to make the envelope style pillow covers because the zippered style intimidates me. Installing zippers is a no-go area for me. I’ve never even used my sewing machine zipper foot. But I’m sure I’ll sum up the courage to use it someday.

Check out a tutorial for sewing this pillow covers here by Melanie Ham.

So here are the before and after photos of my throw pillows:

Before:

Transformation in progress.

AFTER:

As you can see I was very ambitious in completing this project. I bought various prints of home decor fabric and got to work. I wasn’t very particular about having perfect angles so I cut my fabric into 20 x 40-inch pieces. Basically, these pillow covers are one-piece covers. Nothing fancy!

So do you all have any “one-design-for-all” pillows that need to be brought back to life? Try this project now. You will be amazed to how much difference these can make to update your living space.
