Hello my lovely readers! Today I bring you another IKEA hack, but this time, it’s a collaboration with a Dollar Tree item.
I am all about simple and budget-friendly décor ideas and this one is no different.

For this IKEA + Dollar Tree DIY Wall Decor project, I used:
1| An IKEA place mat (Find a similar one at Target, Serena & Lily, Williams Sonoma and Amazon.
2| A 7″ Round Dollar Tree Mirror
4| Hot glue gun
5| Glue sticks

Follow the steps below to make this IKEA and Dollar Tree DIY Wall Decor/Sunburst Mirror.

1 | Separate the mirror from the frame of the Dollar Tree round mirror. Keep cardboard backing.
2 | Spray paint the round frame with the metallic spray paint and let it dry.

3| Assemble the seagrass place mat, spray-painted mirror frame, glue gun, glue stick, fabric ribbon and braided rope.
4| Wrap the rope around your mirror frame to determine the length needed and cut (Be careful when cutting the rope because it unravels very quickly if the ends are not secured with tape. To minimize unraveling, I usually wrap a piece of clear tape over the area I want to cut first, then cut at the middle. You will be left with 2 taped ends.
5| Cut two 2″ pieces of ribbon.
6| Wrap each end of your rope with the pieces of ribbon, and secure in place with hot glue. (As you’ll see in the video, I initially tried using one piece of ribbon instead of two, by wrapping it around one end of the rope, and then inserting the second end later, but I found the two-piece method worked better.)
7| Use hot glue to secure the rope around your mirror frame.

8| Attach the mirror back into its frame.
9| Apply hot glue to the back of the mirror. Glue the back of the mirror to the center of the seagrass place mat.
